Junk removal requests in Surprise

Pickup availability in Surprise needs confirmation. Send your exact address, the items to remove and whether they are outside or need carrying out. We’ll review the location, access and route before arranging a pickup. The local collection guidance below can help you compare your options.

Planning a furniture pickup or cleanout

Tell us about furniture, mattresses, household appliances, garage contents, storage or move-out cleanouts. For rental or business contents, identify the spaces to clear and the person authorized to approve removal.

Already outside? Curbside pickup

Group the agreed items outside at a safe loading point with suitable truck access. Describe any gates, long carrying distance or heavy items.

Still inside? Full service

Leave items in place for carry-out, loading and hauling. Show us the removal path, including stairs, elevators and narrow turns.

Which removal option fits?

Your city or trash provider may fit when your account and items qualify, you can prepare the required setout, and its collection schedule works for you.

Ask PVJR about private removal for items still inside, a mixed cleanout or a property handoff that needs coordination. Share your deadline so we can check availability.

City and provider rules apply to their programs. PVJR’s material and access requirements are separate: an item excluded by the city is not automatically accepted by PVJR.

Bulk and appliances require separate appointments

Surprise’s bulk program is for city Solid Waste customers and is requested at 623-222-1900. Household furniture and prepared yard material follow the bulk route. Appliance collection is a separate appointment, including items such as washers, dryers, refrigerators and empty water heaters.

Ordinary bulk excludes contractor debris, concrete, dirt, rocks, bricks, roofing, hazardous products, tires and large glass. Identify an appliance by type rather than grouping it into a general junk pile.[1][2]

Road type changes where the pile can go

The normal city bulk location is the street at the curb, not the sidewalk or private property. Homes on arterial or collector roads require a city-approved alternative; do not copy a residential-street setout onto a busy road such as Bell or Litchfield.

Cut branches to four feet or less, contain small loose items and box cactus. If private-property placement is needed for city collection, arrange the required approval and release. For private removal, identify the separate loading permission, gate access and carrying route.[1]

Oil-based paint uses the HHW driveway route

Surprise’s household hazardous-waste service collects eligible household products from the driveway by advance appointment at 623-222-1900. Oil-based paint, automotive fluids, pool chemicals and batteries are among the listed materials.

This is separate from the city’s landfill cleanup events, which exclude household hazardous waste. Keep paint and chemicals out of the ordinary bulk pile. Confirm latex paint, aerosols or an unlisted coating when booking rather than assuming every paint type follows the oil-based paint rule.[3]

Resident paint guidance explains a separate disposal route; it does not establish PVJR paint acceptance or pickup availability.

What to include in your request

  • The complete address and item list, with belongings to keep clearly identified.
  • Where the items are and the route to the loading point.
  • Any access window, property deadline and authorized contact.

Photos are optional to start. We may ask for them or more detail to assess the job.

Items that need separate review

Connected appliances, heavy materials and unusual items need individual review. Removal does not include utility disconnection, demolition, repairs or property cleaning. Hazardous and biohazardous materials are not accepted.
