Furniture pickups and cleanouts
Tell us about furniture, mattresses, household appliances, garage contents, storage or move-out cleanouts. For rental or business contents, identify the spaces to clear and the person authorized to approve removal.
Which removal option fits?
Your city or trash provider may fit when your account and items qualify, you can prepare the required setout, and its collection schedule works for you.
Ask PVJR about private removal for items still inside, a mixed cleanout or a property handoff that needs coordination. Share your deadline so we can check availability.
City and provider rules apply to their programs. PVJR’s material and access requirements are separate: an item excluded by the city is not automatically accepted by PVJR.
Separate ordinary bulk from large appliances
Gilbert’s bulk route uses the property’s assigned collection week. Furniture, mattresses, microwaves and prepared yard trimmings are examples of ordinary bulk. Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, water heaters and air conditioners require a separate appliance appointment; call 480-503-6400 to arrange it and identify the appliance.
Empty and clean appliances before the Town’s collection. Household garbage belongs in the regular cart, while paint and other hazardous products need a separate disposal route. For PVJR, describe each appliance and whether it remains connected before requesting removal.[1]
Prepare a pile the collection truck can reach
For Town bulk service, place material on the street against the curb, at least five feet from objects that interfere with collection. Set it out no earlier than the Saturday before the assigned week and by 5 a.m. Monday. Cut yard trimmings below five feet long and twelve inches in diameter. Contain glass in a sealed box and label it.
If your contents are still indoors or behind a gate, include that access detail in the private-pickup request. Keep items you intend to retain well away from any removal pile.[1][2]
Bring household paint with Gilbert residency documents
Gilbert residents can take household latex and oil-based paints and stains to the hazardous-waste facility at 2224 E. Queen Creek Road. Bring valid state or federal ID and a Town utility bill. Commercial hazardous waste is excluded; the public swap shop does not give nonresidents disposal eligibility.
Keep products in labeled original containers, with lids secured inside cardboard boxes or plastic totes. Do not mix products or use garbage bags. Containers may not exceed five gallons, and each liquid type has a ten-gallon daily limit. Staff verify documents before residents unload onto carts; assistance is available when needed. This route does not authorize PVJR paint pickup.[3]
What to include in your request
- The complete address and item list, with belongings to keep clearly identified.
- Where the items are and the route to the loading point.
- Any access window, property deadline and authorized contact.
Photos are optional to start. We may ask for them or more detail to assess the job.
Items that need separate review
Connected appliances, heavy materials and unusual items need individual review. Removal does not include utility disconnection, demolition, repairs or property cleaning. Hazardous and biohazardous materials are not accepted.
